Starspark is a set of Stepmania noteskins with sparkly decorations, excellent contrast, and a unique style of Shock Arrow graphics.

NOTE: This Noteskin should not be used with the theme “Starlight TWOpointZERO” for Outfox or with songs from the “DDR XX” pack. For more restrictions, refer to the End User Licence Agreement.

Starspark is a family of Noteskins that is compatible with the Dance (including Solo style), Pump, Techno, and SMX modes. The arrow shape is based on the classic DDR arrow with the swallowtail, but has been rounded into a distinctive, smoother shape.

Its modern design features a thick black and white outline on all hit objects, guaranteeing contrast from light or dark backgrounds.

It boasts 4 different colorations depending on your preference. More on this below.

New in Starspark are matching judgment fonts!

There are 4 judgment images in total: 6-tier (standard DDR/ITG),

7-tier (Fantastic Attack),

11-tier (Outfox’s ProTiming),

and Hold.

Unlike the STARLiGHT noteskins, The Starspark Noteskin’s variations can be used standalone.

To install the noteskin, follow these steps:

Stepmania 5.3 Outfox

1. Extract all folders to /Appearance/Noteskins/global. This should make the Noteskins available to all supported modes.
2. If Stepmania is running, reload metrics and textures using F2. If not, simply start Stepmania.

There is a folder for judgment fonts that is shared between themes in Outfox: /Appearance/Judgments and /Appearance/HoldJudgments. Place the judgment font images there.

ITGMania, Etterna, and other Stepmania 5.0.12 or 5.1 forks

The downloaded archive should contain 2 folders: common and dance. common contains the actual Noteskin data, but it is not directly exposed to any mode without the contents of dance, which is a blank Noteskin that falls back to said Noteskin data.

1. Copy the common folder to /Noteskins/common.
2. Copy the dance folder, depending on which mode(s) you want to play, to /Noteskins/dance, /Noteskins/pump, and/or /Noteskins/techno.
3. If Stepmania is running, reload metrics and textures using F2. If not, simply start Stepmania.

There are no folders for shared judgment fonts in these versions. Please find the appropriate image in your theme’s assets, and replace it. (For example, in Simply Love SM5, it was /Graphics/_judgments.)

• You may use Starspark for Stepmania gameplay videos on YouTube (including transcriptions of official charts).
• You may use Starspark for images related to rhythm games.
• You may use Starspark as official assets for a free or charity Stepmania tournament.

• You may NOT use Starspark as assets to advertise or run a commercial Stepmania tournament (except for letting players choose to play with Starspark).
• You may NOT use Starspark as assets to advertise an official DDR tournament.
• You may NOT use Starspark to modify the Noteskin and reupload it.
• You may NOT use Starspark as parts to create a personal Noteskin without credit.

Please note that...

• Starspark (formerly known as the Starlight Noteskin) started off as, but is no longer part of the DDR XX -STARLiGHT- project.
• The XX project’s leadership unilaterally removed me and my contributions to said project, based on false accusations of pedophilia.
• Starspark is available for your enjoyment, as long as it stays separate from DDR XX -STARLiGHT- and its organizer, Midflight Digital.
